The open plan interior is light , airy, beautully furnished in blue and white with wooden floors. Bedroom: there is one king size luxury bed (orthopedic) for extra comfort, and a fitted wardrobe. Spacious sitting/dining room with table, chairs, sofa bed and TV. Fully fitted kitchenette with fridge, electronic hob and microwaves. Bathroom with shower, washbasin, bidet and washing machine. A rustic cottage fully restored to its original appearance, with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and wooden floor and tiled ground floor. Approx an hour away is Futuroscope, the science and technology theme park near Poitiers The Puy du Fou historic theme park with its day attractions, the summer evening concerts and displays is within 60 km. The Vendee apart from its beauty, is filled with history and fine architecture, notably the Abbaye de Maillezais and the Abbaye Royale in Nieul. Le Claouset is set on the edge of a small hamlet overlooking the Cerou valley and ideally positioned between the medieval village of Monesties and the stunning hilltop town of Cordes sur Ciel. It has been recently renovated to provide a comfortable and spacious house where you can relax and enjoy your holiday. We have tried to retain a lot of the original character of the property with exposed beams, wooden polished floors and beautiful stonework. On the ground floor is the kitchen, which is fully equipped and is extremely large, there is a dining table which seats 10 easily. On the first floor is the bright and airy living room, two windows look down across the valley and two overlook the courtyard garden. On this floor you also have two en suite twin bedrooms. On the top floor you have the remaining two double bedrooms which are again en suite and one bedroom has a king sized bed. All our bathrooms have both a shower and bath. We are pleased to welcome children to Le Clauoset and can provide cots, high chairs, baby monitors as well as an excellent babysitting service. Outside in the courtyard there is a beautiful, shady covered eating area, ideal for a lazy summer lunch. There is also a sunny terrace with dining area and barbecue. The courtyard give many corners to sit quietly and read or perhaps sleep off the lazy lunch. Outside of the courtyard there are further gardens one which houses the swimming pool with a selection of sun loungers and water toys. There is an orchard and walled garden, where we grow our own fruits and vegetables and raise chickens for eggs ( no cockerels to disturb you in the mornings!) within this area is the lovely old pigeonnier which is now the stable for our lawn munching sheep. In the local area there is plenty to see and do whether you are looking for sailing, canoeing, golf or horse riding or are looking to browse slowly and leisurely through medieval villages and sample local produce and wines in sunny restaurants, we have it all. The city of Albi has the stunning cathedral of Ste Cecile, the largest brick built building in the world as well as the Toulouse Lautrec museum with the largest collection of the artists work. Cordes sur Ciel is one of the stunning hilltop towns for which the area is famous and has a lovely Saturday market or if you want someone else to do the cooking it also has a michelin starred restaurant. There are the vineyads of the Gaillac plateau to explore as well as the forest of Gresigne and the beautiful Aveyron Gorges.
